| The present study reports the distributional record of Andaman grunt, Pomadasys andamanensis McKay & Satapoomin, 1994 for the first time from Great Nicobar Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands based on single specimen (Standard length 156.27 mm). Detailed morphometric measurements and meristic counts of P.andamanensis has been provided and compared with its previous records. This finding represents a new addition to the grunt fish fauna of India.
