Lymnaea stagnalis is an herbivorous snail and common pest of aquatic plants and also a prolific breeder. It is commonly known as pond snail and found in all types of fresh water ponds and lake. In the present investigation glycoside of Cerbera thevetia was tested for lethal toxicity against Gyraulus convexiusculus. In the present investigation has also been taken In the present study, spawn of Lymnaea stagnalis was exposed to different concentration of plant extracted of Cerbera thevetia, they showed hyper-irritability manifested in climbing behavior at the surface of the water avoid contact with treated medium and to take in fresh water. The egg masses were swollen and were sticky then in controls. Snails are pest and prolific. So it is very essential to control the population from glycocides of plant extract of Cerbera thevetia. |
